The rich taste and cultural pride of Southwestern Nigeria came alive on December 21, 2025, as food lovers and culture enthusiasts gathered for the Amala and Palmwine Festival, organized by Blackboyafrika at The Stables, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.
Popularly known as Abula, Amala is a cherished staple among the Yoruba people, and the festival served as a vibrant tribute to this iconic dish. Beyond food, the event brought together people from all tribes, united in celebration of Nigerian culture and shared heritage.
While Amala took center stage, guests were also treated to a variety of local delicacies including firewood jollof rice, grilled fish, and African salad, showcasing the depth and diversity of Nigerian cuisine.
The festival atmosphere was further elevated by live music performances from MAS, Blacksnow, Starpee, Kingsetty, and The Guitarist, whose sounds added rhythm and excitement to the cultural experience.
